The Equation Creator needs help finishing 10 equations! Create the equations from any of the available number or operator tiles to form any correct equation. Practice using the 4 basic mathematical operators with several different settings and modes.
This game is made possible with an Enhancing Education Through Technology competitive grant from the Virginia Department of Education.
Virginia Standard of Learning (SOL) Areas Targeted:
1.8 - Basic addition and subtraction facts (numbers 10 or less).
2.6 - Basic addition and subtraction facts (numbers 18 or less).
2.7 - Estimate or find the sum of two numbers that is 99 or less.
2.8 - Estimate or find the sum of two numbers that each are 99 or less.
2.26 - Estimate or find the sum of two numbers that each are 99 or less.
3.4 - Solve numerical sentence problems by filling in a blank value with the correct one.
3.8 - Given two numbers that are each 9,999 or less, find the sum or difference by using various computational methods.
3.9 - Multiplication and division facts through the nines table.
4.6 - Add or subtract whole numbers written in vertical and horizontal form, choosing appropriately between paper and pencil methods and calculators.
4.8 - Estimate and find the quotient of two numbers, given a one digit divisor.
5.3 - Create and solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, using various computational methods.
Other Information:
- Suitable for many grade levels, with difficulties ranging from basic single-digit addition, to multiplication and division together.
- Two game modes: Normal, which has unlimited time and stresses using as few tiles as possible, and Timed, which stresses making equations as fast as possible.
- Illustrated in-game help file clearly explains how to play and the rules of both modes.
